Our administrators and moderators take care of the operation of the site and are a wealth of knowledge and experience. The Senior Members have been specially selected to answer questions in their field or in appropriate stages of the OTS process.

The U.S. Air Force used 1,760 Sony Playstation 3 video game consoles to create a supercomputer at about a tenth the normal cost for such a setup, officials say.
Named the Condor Cluster and to be unveiled Wednesday, it's the fastest interactive computer the Defense Department has, the Air Force said. "

WASHINGTON -- The Department of Homeland Security is proposing to discontinue the color-coded terror alert system that became a symbol of the country's post-9/11 jitters and the butt of late-night talk show jokes.
The 8-year-old system, with its rainbow of five colors -- from green, signifying a low threat, to red, meaning severe -- became a fixture in airports, in government buildings and on newscasts. Over the past four years, millions of travelers have begun and ended their trips to the sound of airport recordings warning that the threat level is orange. "

WASHINGTON, Oct. 12, 2010 - The world has changed and the United States Air Force must change too, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz said at the National Press Club here today.
Schwartz made the point that political leaders have been dealing with the effects of globalization since the 1970s, but that the cir*****stances and conditions that globalization engenders continually change.
What the United States faces today, he said, is different than anything the nation has confronted in the past.

DURHAM, N.C. -- Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Wednesday that most Americans have grown too detached from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and see military service as "something for other people to do."
In a speech Wednesday at Duke University, Gates said this disconnect has imposed a heavy burden on a small segment of society and wildly driven up the costs of maintaining an all-volunteer force.
